Fringe scarf

Mmmmm….I’m liking this simple project. A friend was recently sporting this loose, light summer scarf which I commented on. She whipped it off to show me how easy it would be to make. So, here is my first attempt. I like it. I don’t love it, but it is a great starting point.
I cut a 5 1/2 foot piece of Ladder yarn. I looped and then square knotted the individual yarns intermittently along the main Ladder yarn.
I think I have about 50 separate one metre lengths of any soft yarns I have on hand. (did you hear Value Village?) I used silk, cotton and acrylic yarns, and avoided wools, alpaca etc to keep the possible itch factor off the back of the neck.
That’s it. It took me about 2 hours to make. I think I’d like to add some pearls. I also added a few coloured bits on the base grey colour, so that it would match more clothing.
I think perhaps I have too many yarns or else they are too long. BUT, I’m happy with it.
