Another piece of furniture, which I’ve hauled around since I was 20, has fallen prey to my refinishing mania. (back in the day, that oak bedside table cost a small fortune.) After sanding and using wood filler to fill the warps and cracks, the table is painted with an alkyd primer.

Once painted with a final coat, it will serve as the bedside table in the guest room. It’s finished and it looks……. okay. I was hoping that it would be amazing, like my headboard, but I’m happy with it. Maybe one cannot disguise 70’s furniture, no matter how one changes it?!
