I believe these plants are from China. Their true name is on a tiny tag (somewhere amongst my garden paraphernalia) that is actually written in chinese characters. I am in zone 5, and I have not lost one of these trees, so I would definitely recommend them for anyone that has fairly cold winters. These are likely my favourite plant in my garden. I’m not even sure why I never see them anywhere. Maybe they are so gorgeous that people think they are finicky. They are pricey, but sooo worth it.
